CM Services Launches E-Newsletter for Association Leaders
Glen Ellyn, IL-- CM Services, Inc., the Association Partnership Company®, announced the launch of a new, electronic newsletter, Association Leaders. Association Leaders is a way for CM Services to share its considerable experience in volunteer leadership and association management with a broad audience of readers.
The announcement was made by Rick Church, President and Head Coach of CM Services. “We’ve amassed a significant body of knowledge to help the volunteer leaders in our association partners,” says Church. “We have also developed a substantial network of industry professionals to tap for additional resources.”
The premier issue of Association Leaders includes a timely look at social networking, “Social networking and associations: Is all the Twitter about Facebook important?” as well as an explanation of antitrust laws and their application to non-profit associations. Future issues will regularly include interviews with volunteer leaders on their experience in balancing their professional and volunteer lives, primers on association topics like Sarbanes-Oxley, informational discussions on topics like social networking and developing public speaking and other skills increasingly in demand for association volunteers.
Church has substantial industry expertise to share with association leaders. In addition to serving in executive positions with four of CM Services’ association partners, he has served as president of the International Association of Association Management Companies (IAAMC) now the AMC Institute, on the first American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) AMC Section Council, 1993-2000, and as chairman or member of many committees. He is a board member of Coverings, the largest international trade show in North America for ceramic tile and stone related products. In 2006 Church was named by Association Trends as a Young & Aspiring Association Professional.
CM Services is the Association Partnership Company® because partnership is the company’s business philosophy. The company defines Association Partnership as "focused, long-term cooperation between our company and the associations we serve to achieve complementary goals." Church points out the Partnership philosophy is inherent in all that CM Services does as a company, “how we treat our employees, how we work with our vendors, and how we serve our association partners.”
Long-term relationships are exactly what CM Services has achieved. The company is celebrating its 33rd anniversary, making it something of a rarity in the industry. Church points out that of 530 association management companies in the country, only 25% were in business before 1980. With a staff of 25 employee partners, CM Services is well above the industry average of 7 employees.
The CM Services’ family of trade association partners includes: American Fence Association, American Fence Association Education Foundation, Association of Rotational Molders, Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council, Bearing Specialists Association, Ceramic Tile Distributors Association, Composite Fence and Deck Association, National Association of Architectural Metal Manufacturers, National Church Goods Association, Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association, Plastic Piping Educational Foundation, Pressure Vessel Manufacturers Association, Steel Stud Manufacturers Association, Thermoset Resin Formulators Association and Vinyl Fence, Deck & Railing Manufacturers Association.
