Association Trends Features American Fence Association’s Fencepost Magazine

FencepostFencepost magazine, published by the American Fence Association (AFA), was singled out by Association Trends in a recent feature story on magazine makeovers. Rick Church, President of CM Services and Executive Vice President of AFA, recalled that when AFA began partnering with CM Services, the company turned to Fencepost as a source for both nondues revenue and a vehicle to generate member interest. At the time the magazine was more than ten years old. CM Services surveyed association members and leaders, then embarked on a redesign that resulted in meatier content, new departments and columns, and improved graphics. As a result the magazine’s revenues, which were less than $100,000 in 2002, topped $400,000 in 2006.
